Health and Healing in South Asia
How do the people in South Asia think of health and illness? What are the theories behind the indigenous healing systems of Ayurveda, Siddha, Yunani, Yoga, etc., how did they evolve historically and how are they practised nowadays? What are the most current health issues in South Asia and how do the different health systems, both biomedical and the indigenous, respond? What is the impact of environmental changes on the health landscape of South Asia?
These are some of the central topics we wish to adress in a medical anthropological perspective in this portal.
